Sous Chef
Store Manager – GG at Home Flagship Store
Seeking a manager for our prepared foods flagship store, GG at Home in North Stonington, beginning immediately. The candidate should have strong customer service as well as good written and spoken communication skills. Full time hours.
The Manager will supervise a team of associates and will be responsible for creating and maintaining the employee schedule for the store, covering the banking duties and fulfilling the stock of office and paper supplies as needed. They will create weekly email marketing campaigns as well as daily social media posts about the store’s specials, updates, and announcements.
Candidates should be comfortable handling cash and credit card transactions through the platform, Square. Food service experience as well as retail experience preferred. Candidates should be able to stand for 8 hours and are expected to do cleaning and stocking tasks daily. One week of training is required. Weekend availability may be required.

Human Resources Specialist
Full time, hourly position. Maintain an employee base as well as create and execute a training program for all staff positions. Will also schedule staff to events using Staffmate, the scheduling software used to place seasonal staff to events.
Manage Employee Hiring, Training and Retention:
- Develop and maintain a superior employee base, including bartenders, servers, kitchen staff, utility, drivers, security and any other event related position
- Hire staff that fosters a high performance culture
- Implement recruitment programs designed to attract and retain experienced catering professional
- Attend local culinary, hotel, food and beverage school career fairs to recruit for externships
- Work events as part of the team to audit staff performance fro training improvement purposes
- Design and implement an in-house training program and coordinate with sales, executive chef and owner.
- Monitor staff performance metrics via the event directors and event chef leads reporting (AAR-After Action Report)
- Design and implement and incentive program for exemplary employees
- Add and identify areas to continuously improve Gourmet Galley’s standard operating procedures (all service related)
- Maintain employee safely, welfare, wellness and health
- Review GG handbook annually
- Plan employee gathers, celebration, and team building activities
Scheduling- Catering and Events
- Responsible for maintaining and updating existing scheduling databases, as well as any on-line calendars and schedules for public viewing.
- This person serves as the main point of contact for any callouts, late arrivals, and staff schedule changes to an event.
- They will also be responsible for organizing the “drivers sheet” schedule of drivers and trucks that go out over the weekend.
- Communicate with temp event staff agencies for coordinating additional staff for busy days.
- Communicate with 200+ seasonal employees.
Person needs to be available on weekdays as well as weekends. Industry Experience is a plus. Degree in HR is not necessary but definitely a plus. Computer literacy is required.
Graphic Design Intern
Responsibilities:
Create themed signs for events:
- Using Event Order, identify signs needed for each event
- Use the programs Canva and Avery to design tent cards, menus, stationary signs, labels, and any other signage needed
- Use photo frames, structural pieces, boards, varied design utensils, and other materials to create signs and displays
- Label boxes for events accordingly using color coded event identification method
- Communicate with coordinators to make sure signs are made to their clients specifications
- Create labels for events with deliveries or pickups
Put together gift packages for couples:
- Put together books, GG spoons, and customized tags for couples/clients who are receiving gifts
Qualifications:
One should…
- Have their own computer
- Have experience with Canva
- Have good penmanship
- Be a creative designer!
- Be attune to the trends in the wedding industry
- Communicate with event coordinators and warehouse managers to assure signs are arriving to events and being used appropriately
It’s a plus if you…
- Can do calligraphy
- Are familiar with Avery or Canva
- Can attend events on weekends to set up and deliver signs
- Organize inventory of photo frames, design pieces and paper products used for signage
